Three to Get Married Marriage Preparation

Love for a Lifetime The Center for Family Development's marriage preparation course, Three to Get Married, satisfies pre-Cana requirements in both the Archdiocese of Baltimore and Washington and the Diocese of Arlington. The weekend includes talks, questionnaires, discussions with marriage sponsors, and time for personal reflection. All allow the engaged couple to deepen their understanding of marriage--with all its possibilities and challenges. Three to Get Married seeks to assist the couple that they might grow in love and knowledge of both God and each other.

What to Expect Three to Get Married sessions take place on a weekend. Each weekend the course is held from 9:00am to 5:00pm including light snacks, lunch and Mass on Sundays. A Thursday evening orientation from 7:00-9:30pm precedes each course. Topics that will be covered include the following:

  • The Sacramentality of Marriage
  • Emotional Needs of Men and Women
  • Communication
  • Finances
  • Raising Children
  • Meaning of Christian Married Love
Also included are: Mass and opportunities for confession and private consultation.
